Newlywed Game Adds Gay/Lesbian Married Couples

The Game Show Network’s Newlywed Game will make history this year--by adding same-sex celebrity pairs to their format. The network is in the midst of producing special Celebrity Newlywed Game episodes, one of which will feature the first gay contestants ever: George Takei (Sulu from the original Star Trek series) and longtime partner Brad Altman. The duo married in September 2008 in Los Angeles, Ca., just before the state's Proposition 8 approval banned same-sex marriage.
