Two Thirds in British Columbia and Ontario Favor Gay Marriage

A new poll confirms that gay marriage has plenty of friends in B.C. The survey commissioned by Global TV finds the greatest support for gay marriage in Canada is right here in B.C. and in Ontario. Two-thirds of people in the two provinces say they approve of it. In the heart of Vancouver's gay community, the numbers seem to jive with perception here. One man tells us, "B.C. is more laid back than a lot of the other provinces are, so they are more accepting of other lifestyles and gay marriage." Younger canadians are more open with nearly three-quarters of those between 18 and 34 who believe same-sex couples should have the right to legal marriage.
