Love Honor Cherish to Submit Measure Today to Repeal Prop 8 in 2010

A group opposed to Proposition 8 plans to submit ballot language to repeal the measure with the attorney general's office today (Thursday, September 24), one day before the suggested deadline. John Henning, executive director of Love Honor Cherish, said on Monday, September 21, that the language was still "in flux" but that it was "pretty straightforward." He said the proposal would be to strike down Prop 8, which voters passed last November that amended the state constitution and banned same-sex marriage, and include a clause making clear that repealing the measure would not require religious institutions to perform same-sex marriages.
