Conservative Calls for Less Government, More War, & "to Cease & Desist All Multicultual Crap" After Election

Found this, by Ron Lipsman, on the Intellectual Conservative Site this morning. There's lots there, including cutting the Federal Government back to a shadow of itself, and with the money that's left, attacking Iran, Pakistan, and Saudi Arabia, but I'll restrict this review to the social parts. I'll let bits of it speak for itself:

"Recapture the culture. Initiate a multi-faceted approach toward rescuing the culture of the US. The basic goal is to restore (a reasonable facsimile) of the traditional culture that permeated American life from the 18th to the 20th century. Start on the long path toward delegitimizing the pornographic, anti-family, anti-religious, egalitarian, multicultural, environmentally wacky, anti-achievement, socialistic cesspool that passes for culture in America today."

...

"Individual liberty must be restored as our highest goal. This does not mean an entitlement mentality that sees all of us with equal outcomes at the end of the day, but rather equal opportunity for all of us to achieve at the highest levels we can attain."

...

"Cease and desist all multicultural crap like: bilingual education, diversity programs, group rights, gay marriage and coddling of illegal immigrants."

...

Oh, that Mr. Lipsman doesn't see the irony of simultaneously pushing for "individual liberty" (presumably only for white straight males) while calling for an end to all the "multicultural crap".

If you vote for Republicans this fall, or fail to vote at all, this is what you're helping them to achieve - a hellish version of Mayberry, where the pleasant surface is enforced with an ak47.

What Conservatives Are Saying About Gay Marriage Trial Judge

Social conservatives are crying foul over the recent San Francisco Chronicle outing of Chief U.S. District Judge Vaughn R. Walker, who is about to rule in the first federal trial to decide the constitutionality of a gay marriage ban. The outing would “explain much of his bizarre behavior throughout the trial,” blustered Matt Barber, director of cultural affairs at Liberty Counsel, a Christian-based group opposed to gay rights.

“At every turn he's displayed extreme bias in favor of his similarly situated homosexual activist plaintiffs. These individuals have eschewed the democratic process and seek to employ like-minded judicial activists to radically redefine the millennia-old definition of natural marriage.”

“In unprecedented form, and to plaintiff's' delight, he has created a circus-like atmosphere throughout,” Barber added.

HI: Anti Gay Protesters Rally Ahead of Civil Unions Vote

Social conservatives in Hawaii held a large rally Sunday at the State Capitol to protest a bill that would recognize gay couples with civil unions. The bill ran aground during last year's legislative session after over 6,000 anti-gay protesters stormed the Capitol the Sunday before a key Senate committee vote. The bill deadlocked on a 3-3 vote in the Senate Judiciary Committee. The final tally came after a grueling 18 hour marathon hearing that ended at 3AM. Six senators voted in favor of pulling the bill from committee and putting it up for a vote, but the effort fell short of the 9 votes needed to move the bill. A second effort just days before the end of the legislative session succeeded in retrieving the bill. Senators quickly amended the bill to include both gay and straight couples but the session ended without a vote on the measure. The amended bill needs the approval of both chambers of the Legislature to move to the governor's desk. Previously, the House approved the original bill on a 33 to 17 vote. How Long Can Conservatives Hold Off Gay Marriage?

My new dog groomer has a husband. He told me so Tuesday afternoon. We live in Iowa where, since April of this year, a man can legally marry a man. Since May, it has been possible in Maine to do the same. Or it was until Tuesday, when a slim majority of Maine voters chose to repeal their state’s new same-sex marriage law. Some conservatives are elated. Over at National Review, Maggie Gallagher was dancing a jig. "The People have exercized [sic] their veto. This is huge. I am so happy," she gushed. But traditionalists shouldn’t be so happy. Because this is not so huge. My dog groomer still has a husband. And marriage equality is coming back to Maine. It’s only a matter of time. In fact, it’s likely that gay marriage is coming soon to your state, if it hasn’t already. This week’s vote in Maine merely allowed the moribund spirit of yesteryear to sit up for a last gasp. It was just a small hitch in the zeitgeist’s stride. "Times have changed," said Maine Gov. John Baldacci when he signed the bill legalizing same-sex marriage last spring. Well, times have not changed back because of Tuesday’s vote. The fight over marriage equality is in part a fight between secular and religious Americans. But, more than anything else, it is a fight between generations. Younger voters overwhelmingly support the right of same-sex couples to marry. As long as the old continue to die at a greater rate than the young, nationwide gay marriage is practically inevitable. Gay Marriage Friendly GOP Candidate in NY Driven Out of Race by Conservatives

The failure of Republican Dierdre "Dede" Scozzafava's campaign for Congress is hitting Janet Duprey hard. Duprey, the assemblywoman from Peru who is also the chairwoman of the Clinton County Republican Party, was instrumental in the selection of Scozzafava as the Republican candidate. "I would still stand behind her as the best candidate, and the candidate with the best record and the best message," a disappointed Duprey said Saturday.
