A proposal in the Ohio Legislature to prohibit employment discrimination based on sexual orientation and gender identity is poised to go further than it ever has.
The legislation will get a floor vote in the Democratic-controlled House when lawmakers return next week. But the GOP-controlled Senate remains skeptical, saying it amounts to a mandate on businesses.
The Human Rights Campaign says 12 states prohibit discrimination based on both sexual orientation and gender identity.
