West Hollywood Fundraiser to Fight Prop 8 a Big Success

West Hollywood. Young, hip, gay and straight hotties walk from bar to bar on Santa Monica blvd. In the heart of the Gay community the restaurant and club “Eleven” hosts the Equality Networks Prop 8 fundraiser and silent auction. The red carpet for celebrities is set and the Drag Queens are being adorn with flashbulbs as onlookers stroll in the club. Helinka, of San Francisico’s infamous “Tranny Shack” is the hostess of the evening. Her big white Dolly Parton bouffant, flowing cocktail dress, and perma smile is magnetizing to the crowds as she enters the club. Helinka floats upstairs to where the silent auction is located. Domino Designs jewelry, Z. Hovak custom apparel, Chateau Marmont and other of LA’s top notch joined to help raise money to turn over Prop 8. Prop 8 was passed in November 2008 and created by the Mormon Church to have gay marriage abolished. So much for separation of church and state. The Prop was worded in such a way that many voters voted incorrectly. Equality Network has been striving ever since to have the Prop overturned so that gay couples can have the right to marry.
