West Virginia Schedules Public Hearing on Gay Marriage Ban

A proposal to constitutionally ban gay marriage went nowhere in the Legislature this year, but that isn't stopping lawmakers from studying it. A public hearing has been scheduled for July 14 on whether to amend the state's Constitution to define marriage as between a man and a woman. Republican lawmakers unsuccessfully tried to bring the issue to a vote this year. Instead, legislators voted to study it during interim meetings. Full Story from WV Gazette
