Tally of Gay Marriages in Iowa

Over two months ago, the Iowa Supreme Court legalized gay marriage. And on April 27th, the law came into effect. Fact Finder spoke with county recorders on Friday to determine how many same-sex couples have applied for marriage licenses in Southeast Iowa. Appanoose, Davis and Monroe County has had no applicants.  Jefferson County issued four licenses. Wapello County filed nine licenses. Polk County, which covers Des Moines, issued 193 same-sex marriage licenses in a little over a month. Full Story from Hartland Connection
