New Hampshire House Passes Gay marriage Bill 198-176, Now to Governor

After a tense day in the House chamber the New Hampshire House passed the marriage equality bill by 198-176, following the passage of the bill in the Senate this morning. Marriage equality activists went into the vote unsure of the outcome, as many lawmakers were still on t he fence. Here’s Marty Rouse’s take on the day’s proceedings from Human Rights Campaign’s (HRC) Back Story blog. Rouse is HRC’s national field director, and he’s been up in Concord working with other pro-equality activists to secure the pro-equality majority. Now that the House and Senate have passed the marriage bill it goes to Governor John Lynch’s desk, and he has indicated he will sign it, making New Hampshire the sixth state to legalize same-sex marriage. Check back later at baywindows.com for the full story on the day’s events. Full Story from Bay Windows
