Michael Steele Says Gay's Getting Married Would Cost Small Businesses Too Much
Republican National Committee Chairman Michael Steele says gay marriage would place a financial burden on small businesses.
Steele tried to recast the debate over gay marriage as an issue of money during a speech to delegates Saturday at the Georgia Republican convention.
He said allowing same-sex couples to get married would cost small business owners money by requiring them to pay for health care and life insurance for people who previously weren’t entitled to the benefits as spouses.

Good grief. What a ridiculous place the Republican party has become. Does anyone actually believe these arguments?
How is there any less financial burden associated with covering straight couples?
For that matter, how how is there any less financial burden associated with covering fat couples, old couples, poor couples, couples who smoke, couples who rock-climb, or couples whose incessant heterosexual nagging has driven each other to drink?
