Proceedings in this case can be followed at the following sites: a liveblog from Teddy Partridge at Firedog Lake; Twitters from Joe Mirabella; a Prop. 8 Trial Tracker from the Courage Campaign; a recap of the day’s events from Shannon Minter and Kate Kendall, two of the attorneys involved in the California Supreme Court case, later today on Pam’s House Blend.
A couple of things caught my attention with this morning’s proceedings. First, Judge Vaughn Walker appears to be a very involved judge; he asked a lot of questions (and interrupted opening statements to do it). That’s a good thing, since it means he’s really examining all the issues raised and, at least with some of his questions to Theodore Olson, one of the attorneys for the plaintiffs, trying to make sure he fully understands why gays and lesbians feel discriminated against.
Also, go find Ted Olson’s opening statement somewhere and read it right now. Even the Twittered version made me cry.
