Woman Opens New Gay/Lesbian Wedding Planning Agency in Iowa's Quad Cities Area

It wasn't quite as dramatic as the disembodied voice coming from a cornfield that inspired Ray Kinsella to build a baseball diamond in the film "Field of Dreams." But Suzon Esser thinks there may have been some magic in a dream she had about gay couples coming to Iowa. "In my dream, I was on an airplane, and I turned to some of the people flying and asked them where they were going," said Esser, a Bettendorf resident who for eight years has run the speed-dating service 7 Minute Yenta in the Quad-Cities. "They said they were going to Iowa to get married. There was a whole plane full of gay people, flying to Iowa to get married. I had the dream, and I just knew this was something I was going to do."
