California Bill to Recognize Pre Prop 8 Marriages Performed Out of State Awaits Schwarzewnegger's Decision

SB 54 (Leno) – Enrolled. Awaiting the governor's signature, this bill would provide that, notwithstanding any other provision of law, a marriage between two persons of the same sex contracted outside California that would be valid by the laws of the jurisdiction in which the marriage was contracted, would be valid in California if the marriage was contracted prior to the passage of Proposition 8 on November 5, 2008.
