Mother of Gay Son Sends Letter to Irish Parliament, Inspires Protest

A letter sent to the Irish justice minister by the mother of a gay son has inspired a protest today outside the Irish parliament for gay marriage. Helen Doody's letter, in which she asked minister Dermot Ahern to "revise [the civil partnerships bill] so everyone can be equal", is fast becoming an internet sensation. Speaking to PinkNews.co.uk last night, her son Declan said: "When the letter came out on the internet, my mum didn't expect the reaction. Full Story from Pink News
