Obama Signs Memorandum Giving Federal Gay/Lesbian Employees Limited Benefits

It's President Obama's first foray into the issue since taking office, but now a delay in rewarding federal workers time off to care for sick partners has angered gay rights supporters and is drawing fire from all sides. Federal worker Keith Ribnick embraced the news. "It means that I count, that my work as a government employee means something," Ribnick, who works at the US Labor Department said.
