Two Thirds in Omaha Back Civil Unions

About two-thirds of Omaha residents would support some sort of legal recognition of gay couples' relationships. But most voters still oppose same-sex marriage. Those are the results of The World-Herald Poll, which was conducted last month. When asked how they felt about legally recognizing gay couples, Omaha voters were split into three roughly equal camps. About one-third supported same-sex marriage, one-third favored civil unions only, and about one third opposed both civil unions and marriages for gay couples.
