Muslims ask Indian High Court to Withdraw Ruling Legalizing Homosexuality

All India Muslim Personal Law Board (AIMPLB) have decided to approach the Supreme Court to demand the withdrawal of the Delhi High Court regarding Homosexuality. This was decided in a working committee meeting of AIMPLB held in Calicut on Sunday, 12 July 2009. Talking to the reporters, Asstiant General Secretary Abdur Rahim Qureshi said that the Delhi high court judgement on homosexuality. This act goes totally against and also violates human morality and the teachings of all religions. AIMPLB will also request the Prime Minister to take a very strong stance in regard to the verdict delivered by the Delhi High Court judgement on homosexuality, said Qureshi. AIMPLB has also decided to approach the Prime Minister demanding permission for Muslim officials to keep beard. He said added that while the law permits the members of certain religions including Sikhs to keep beard and turban in Defence wings, but the same law does not allow Muslims to keep a beard.
