Lisa Blestt remembers fondly the spring day last year when she and her partner drove to Seekonk and, white-clad in a civil ceremony, pledged to spend the rest of their lives together.
It was only weeks after the landmark Rhode Island court decision that struck down same-sex divorce, but the newlyweds weren’t thinking about that.
“I don’t think anyone enters into a marriage thinking there’s a possibility that it might not work out. You give yourself totally to that person,” Blestt recalls.
